My year in 5th grade
My year in Grade 5......
Fifth grade was one of the best years of my 7 years of elementary school because had an amazing teacher, amazing classmates and an amazing learning experience and learning environment. I mainly liked Being the role models of the school and I loved being one of the house captains it felt so good to be the leader of the school and at this point we are so close to winning this year.and from everything I learned in middle school now I think i am ready for middle school so thank you the enormous 5k.
Parents Questions:
1. "What was the most challenging Math unit throughout the year?"
Answer: The hardest unit was geometry because Remembering the shapes properties really confuses me.
2. "What is your favorite subject in grade 5?"
Answer: Most probably science because we get to do a lot of experiments
3. "Where do you think you had improvement and did a big effort in?"
Answer: One of the things is social studies and writing mostly because I put a lot of hard work into it.
Reading:
Growth: In reading I worked really hard by improving my reading level. One of my favorite parts in the fifth grade reading journey is going into fantasy book clubs because we get to use our imagination but in groups with books. I also loved the unit where we read articles about world causes. Because it felt really good to know how the world is now. I mainly grew strong in stopping and jotting about important parts of the story, predictions
Next steps: My goal is further in in middle school is to long write more often and to find out more strategies on how to elaborate on my long write and still make it very interesting.
Evidence: In the beginning of the year my f and p level was level p, and o but now at the end of the year my levels s, t, and u. and now I jot way more than i use to showing from the photograph.
Writing
Growth: In my writing I have really showed growth as a writer by learning to write perfect piece using many strategies that will really help me further on. Such as ways to gather notes. We even use annotations to remember our notes and now I feel very professional. Now in know how to be patient in my writing by writing about a topic I am really interested in my topic.
Next steps: my goal for middle school is to learn how to organize my plan in diffrent ways that are more clear so I would be more ready when it comes to drafting.
Evidence: When we are at the stage to find out what topic we should write about I see what I have interest in and see if it connects to the genre so when it comes to working on the book I want to continue writing it instead of getting bored in the middle of the drafting point.
Math:
Growth: In my opinion I think I showed growth mostly in math is that I learned many strategies to solve word problems and by using fractions and geometry in math in many diffrent ways. I have mainly grew in the speed of my sprints.
Next steps: My goal for the future is to check my work more often using checking strategies so I know I am right before I move on to the next problem.
Evidence: I usually am almost finished with my sprints and when we check all of my answers are usually correct and best of all mostly I improve
Science
Growth: In science I have mainly worked on testing variables and experimenting and by taking exact measurement and by showing it in a clear way of presentation. I usually for research take notes in my journal so when it has come to the time for a presentation my notes are already prepared.
Next steps: My goal for middle school is when I am writing an essay using my notes I have to be more specific by using measurements and more examples to elaborate my thinking.
Evidence: I always research and jot down my notes when we are either watching a video or reading something I always stop jot and gather notes.
Social Studies
Growth: In social studies i really showed growth by gathering many notes and also by cooperating with others in projects. I had a lot of fun learning about the past and by reading and watching videos and by using that information for the final project.
Next steps: My goal for middle school is to find diffrent ways to organise my notes and to find diffrent w to present my notes.ays
Evidence: we went into groups and debated and groups all worked together and we won the debate strong. that shows that I can corporate and work in groups well
Core Values
One of the main core values that has helped me through out the year of fifth grade is the core value of perseverance.I have had many challenges or a goal I was trying to reach so I kept on trying and trying till I reached my goal. That shows perseverance
Most Challenging
The most challenging thing is most probably learning all of the responsibilities I need for middle school.
Most Enjoyable
Spending an educational and fun time with my last class of elementary school.
Most Proud Of
Learning new strategies of each and every subject
